September 2017 - May 2019 | Illustrator/Comic Artist
During my time at The University of Texas, I worked with the Daily Texan as a senior staff member, while I also published my own comic strip in the paper. I conceptualized and illustrated "Eclectic," an original comic strip that covered various topics, from relatable situations to terrible puns. As a senior staff member, I collaborated with writers and editors to create illustrations for news and opinions articles that accurately conveyed the intended messages and complemented the articles. I had to maintain a consistent and timely production schedule to meet all editorial deadlines.
Below are illustrations from different articles and the comic strip that was published in the paper in both color and black and white.
